To start off here’s a little history about how National Dairy Month started.

History of How National Dairy Month Started!

National Milk Month was established in 1937 to promote drinking milk and increase demand at a time when milk production was at a peak. It ran from June 10 to July 10, with the original theme of “Keep Youthful—Drink Milk.” In 1939 The National Dairy Council, adjusted the timeframe to encompass the month of June, and renamed the event “June Dairy Month.” The American Dairy Association took over in 1955 the promotion of June Dairy Month, and developed it into an annual celebration of the contributions the dairy industry has made to the world.

Why is National Dairy Month Important?

National Dairy Month serves as a reminder to incorporate dairy products into daily meals. By promoting the consumption of milk, this month encourages individuals to prioritize their health and well-being through proper nutrition.

During National Dairy Month, take the opportunity to explore different dairy products such as yogurt, cheese, and kefir. These products offer unique flavors and textures while providing the same essential nutrients found in milk.

How Can You Celebrate National Dairy Month?

There are many ways to celebrate National Dairy Month, such as trying new milk-based recipes, visiting a local dairy farm, or simply enjoying a cold glass of milk with your favorite snack. Share your love for dairy on social media using the hashtag #NationalDairyMonth.
